VelNotes does not download videos from YouTube or third-party links. It works with local files selected by the user and uses speech recognition when the device supports it.
Today, VelNotes ships Apple Pencil, PDF, Time Travel, Quick Text, and transcript workflows. A note-aware AI assistance layer is on the roadmap.
Where are notes stored?
VelNotes stores notebook and page content in the app data area. When Pro sync is enabled, notebooks owned by the user can be synchronized through Firebase. Manual iCloud and Google Drive backup flows remain user-controlled.

- Free: local-first notebooks and manual backup flows.
- Pro: Firebase sync and notebook invitations for notebooks you own.
- Sharing: recipients can be assigned viewer or editor access.
How do audio, video, and transcripts work?
Voice recordings and supported local audio/video files can be converted into transcripts when on-device speech recognition is available. Automatic transcripts can contain mistakes, so VelNotes asks users to review the output before relying on it.
VelNotes is not a video link downloader. It works with local files selected by the user, such as supported mp4, mov, or m4v files.
Deletion, recovery, and data requests
Deleted content first moves into a recoverable Trash flow. Users can restore content from Trash or permanently delete it. Account and data requests can be sent through support and are documented in the legal pages.

VelNotes plans to add its own assistance layer over notes, transcripts, and study workflows over time. This is a roadmap signal; current production claims are based on Apple Pencil, PDF, Time Travel, Quick Text, local media transcription, and sharing workflows already in the app.
